With
Winter season winding down it's time to
start thinking about your on-ice Spring

| |
Under
the direction of Rob Malstrom
(Head Coach of New Trier Blue) the aim of
the program is to keep players on the ice
in a competitive and fun environment under
the direction of a Varsity coach. |
| |
The
program is open to all non-seniors who currently
skate in the New Trier program AND eighth
graders (or transfer players) who will be
trying out for a New Trier team in the Fall

Our
Seniors |
 |
As
the 23 seniors of the Class of 2009
approach the final shifts of their
long, lustrous hockey careers, it
is a time to both look forward to
the new, unseen adventures ahead and
to reflect on all the friendships
and memories which will never be forgotten. |
 |
It
is hard to believe that these seniors'
hockey careers began just a decade
ago ..and whoa, what a ride they've
had with all the wins, a few losses,
triumphs and heartbreaks. |
 |
Let's
not forget the early morning practices,
the even more grueling late night
practices, and all the missed family
dinners...ohh, and the driving - all
that mileage (and occasionally getting
lost!) Oh yes, it has all gone by
too quickly, like a blur on the Interstate. |
 |
|
|
|
| It
is now time to remember the biggest
fans, the PARENTS. They always made
sure the gear was packed and in order.
They selflessly juggled schedules so
everything worked. They always knew
how to find snacks and Gatorade at a
moment's notice. They were always at
the rink at all hours of the day and
night; at one time they tied the skates
in those smelly locker rooms yet at
all times they cheered from those freezing
bleachers. They knew how to cheer the
loudest in the best of times, and from
the heart, were always the most loyal
at all others. |

and Dad, thanks |

EDWARDS
BURNS
MALSTROM IN 2 O.T. |
| |
| WINNETKA
- December tis the season for the NTHC alumni
to return to their old stomping ground and
raise some, uh, you know... This year they
didn't disappoint with an action-packed, 2-OT
thriller. |
 |
| Braving
the -5 degree wind chill, fans came out in
droves to pack a row of center ice bleachers
to watch Team Edwards (White) take
on Team Malstrom (Blue). |
 |
| After
three periods of regulation and one OT of
5-on-5 failed to settle the score, things
got sick; the game went into a really, really,
long shoot out with Team Edwards
taking all the marbles. Final Score: White
10, Blue 9. S.O.G. 45-49. |
 |
| We
can't remember who scored the game-winner
but we have it written on a napkin somewhere
and possibly captured on video, too. |
 |
| Thanks
to all the alumni, their fans and the volunteers
who came out for a great time. We'll see you
again next year! |

New
Trier Hockey Elves in the Community |
 |
| HO
HO HO!!! On Tuesday, December 16, twelve
NTHC players descended upon Target (like
a whirlwind!) to purchase requested Christmas
items for their Adopt-A- Family holiday
service project.
|
 |
Rain,
snow nor sleet could keep this group down.
Players were seen dashing through aisles
purchasing bikes, art supplies, Hannah Montana
doll, a radio, robe and pajamas, CD’s,
boots, shoes, tops, bottoms, sheets, gift
cards and more. |
 |
Enormous
thanks to our elves: Vail, Talbot’s
(Max, Joe and Jack), Ogard, Kim, Grant,
Dynek, Zeiler, Pecka, Kolton, and Matthews.
A special thanks to Libby and John Ogard,
Sylvia Vail, Anne Zeiler, Kevin Grant and
the entire NTHC for making a very special
Christmas dream come true!! |

The
New Trier Hockey Club Collects $4,000
to Buy Small Miracles for Terminally
Ill Children. |
 |
On Saturday, September 27, eighty
New Trier Hockey Club players collected
donations from patrons of local area
retailers to support the Bear
Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
Specifically donations from Jewel,
The Grand Food Store and Walgreens
customers will go towards purchasing
small miracles for children terminally
ill with cancer. |
 |
Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer
Foundation and Small Miracles program
were founded in 1992 in memory of
eight yer-old Barret "Bear"
Krupa who died after a five-and-a-half
year battle with Wilms Tumor, a pediatric
cancer. The Small Miracles
funds go toward purchasing "wishes"
for those children terminally ill
with cancer as well as provide support
