White beat the Carmel Corsiars two games to one in the first round of the playoffs for the Illinois High School Hockey League, North Central Division. In the first game at Wilmette's ice arena on February 11, White came away with a 4-2 victory. White's first goal was scored late in the second period when forward, Jack Cadden, deflected the puck into the net off of a slap shot by blueliner Tristan Jones. After the Corsairs went up 2-1, sniper, Chris Creamer, beat Carmel's netminder with a low wrist shot on the glove side just before the second period ended. White put away the game in the final stanza with goals by Alex Levine (Chris Sonnenschein) and Charlie Burton (Dillon Munson). Ryan Kochman was stalwart in net.
In the second game at Glacier on February 13, White played hard, but lost to Carmel 3-2. White goals were scored by Matt Mulhern (Daniel Hauser and Burton) and Will Murdoch. Goalie, Everest Bradford, turned in a fine effort between the pipes, and the defensemen also played well.
In the final and decisive game at Wilmette on February 15, the entire team skated hard and White was able to win the series with a 4-2 victory. White's first goal came in the first period when Michael Graham scored a shorthanded goal on a breakaway. A short while later, Jack Raith, assisted by Burton, slid the puck past Carmel's goalie to make it 2-0. Hunter Johnson made it 3-0 when he scored an unassisted goal in the second period. Although the Corsairs were able to close the gap to 3-2, the White skaters held off a frenzied attack at the end of the game. Sonnenschein, with an assist from goalie, Kochman, scored an empty net goal with nine seconds left in the game to seal the victory and the series. It was a total team effort and a job well done. On to round two of the Playoffs against Highland Park.
