Looking Sharp... Again!

New Trier White beat Libertyville this past Saturday evening 5-1 at Glacier Ice Arena. With an active student section, (compliments of free PIZZA), there was a ton of energy as the game began.  It only seemed to energize White, as the visitors had 3 high quality chances early on but were unable to score.  Finally, at the 4 minute mark of the first, White broke through on a giveaway by Libertyville.  Tommy Hines picked off an errant pass and easily scored to make it 1-0.  A terrific penalty kill ensued shorty after White's goal to keep the score 1-0 heading into the second period.

With just over 4 minutes left in the middle frame, wonderful offensive zone pressure got White their second goal as Carter Sampson had great net front presence to tap in a rebound off a shot by Tommy Hines with an additional assist going to Trevor Jones.  It is clear, when our boys put the puck to the net, only good things happen!  The final goal of the frame came from Johnnie Hackett's breakaway with just under 2 minutes left in the period. A great shot, stick side!

White kept their "foot on the gas" in the third as they made it 4 nill when Jack O'Flarherty pounced on a rebound  as Liam Voyce's initial shot could not be gloved by Libertyville's net minder.  The home team broke Shenton's shutout with just over 5 minutes left to play on a scrum in front of the net.  White capitalized on their final power play as Hackett one timed Gagerman's crisp, cross ice pass to make the final New Trier 5 Libertyville 1.

Game notes:  White's energy carried throughout the entire game.

Next up:  Highland Park away on December 3rd.
