December to Remember

After a great beginning of the season NT Gray had a tough month in December.  Stats have flattened and the team appears to be in a slump.  I am not one for jinxes or bad luck or whatever one calls our recent plague of average play; but we need to get out of it.  Time to eat your Lucky Charms, consult the chicken bones, stop washing the winning jerseys and don the rally caps.

By the numbers through ten December games (3-3-4):
- 14 players combined for 80 volunteer hours at the USO in Great Lakes
- Fisher was the assist leader with 4
- Blunk led the team in goals and points with 6 and 8 respectively
- December Averages:

  • 3.1 goals against
  • 17 saves
  • 30 shots on goal
  • 3.7 goals for
  • 17 minutes in the box
  • 25% success on power play
  • 76% success on power play defense

Realistically, Gray has the talent.  Rely on skill, perseverance, and ability to capitalize on opportunity, rather than relying solely on luck itself.  Discipline, Drive and Determination will win most of the games you play.  Practice hard, play hard, Finish Strong and make January the month the opposition would like to forget.
