NEW TRIER GREEN WINS 2026 CCM MOTOWN DETROIT INVITATIONAL!

New Trier Green swept the Motown Invite six games to none and becomes the first pure single-school team to ever win the Motown Upper Division. Green returns home from Detroit with a record of 23–0 while outscoring all opponents 117–24.

The entire team was firing on all cylinders throughout the tournament, with every line and every player contributing at a championship level. Forward, Will Ornstein, capped the dominant performance by earning MVP honors for the Tacks Division. Goalie, Max Reed, closed out the championship game with a shut-out.

NTG’s unbeaten start includes a 10–0 record against nationally assembled AAA competition.

Where does this start stand in Green’s 53-year history?

✅ Just the second NTG team to open 23–0–0, joining the 2018–19 squad.

✅ Only 24 goals allowed through 23 games—a 1.04 per-game pace, which is below the program’s season record benchmark of 1.53.

✅ Ahead of the 23-game starts posted by the standout 2015–16 (20–2–1), 2022–23 (19–2–2) and 2024–25 (22–1–0) teams.

Between the pipes, Max Reed and Cole Munson have been outstanding:

🥅 REED: 19–0–0 | 1.11 GAA | .938 SV%

🥅 MUNSON: 4–0–0 | 0.75 GAA | .946 SV%

Historic start with plenty of hockey ahead. Focus remains one game at a time.

ROLL TREVS!
